It is very easy to lose focus on present opportunities when something new captures our attention, but we need to do more than scratch the surface if we want to make the most of every situation and moment. It is good to make time for and learn new approaches, so that we can apply the new things that we have learned. We have to remember to focus long enough to truly understand things, so that we can benefit from the opportunities they possess.
Going deeper than the surface is always important when dealing with people, because it helps us avoid those with personalities or qualities that will clash with our own. By only paying attention to the outer shell we will never be able to know:
* If we are equally yoked (spiritually) with a person
* If we hold the same values
* If our goals are inter-related
* If we are compatible
* and if there are things about them that we will not accept
Going deeper than the surface could apply to business decisions, major purchases, plans that effect our future (us personally and our love ones), health, and mental stability. So spending a little time going beyond outer appearances is worth the effort.
See the unseen.
