Did you know Congress is about to return to DC after a brief recess?
On Thursday's Teleconference, the President made the stakes of reform crystal clear. He talked about how, with health care costs rising three times faster than wages, the cost of inaction is simply too high. Print out my the full Teleconference posted by me Friday.
President Obama explained how healthcare reform will guarantee competition and choice. He described the Insurance Guarantees that will protect every American from discrimination against pre-existing conditions, exorbitant charges, and arbitrary denials or reductions in coverage just when we need it most.
And President Obama made plain his stance on the public option: "So let me just be clear: I continue to support a public option, I think it is important, and I think it will help drive down costs and give consumers choices."
This week the "Let's Get It Done Campaign" begins. This Campaign is asking for YOU to either contact your Congressperson or attend an event to say firmly, "Let's Get Healthcare Reform passed!" The timing of this is important because it will be the lasting impression Congress has when it returns to Congress in September. Their task: GET IT DONE!
This is how YOU can participate in just a few minutes. Click on this link to find an event near you:

OR
Click on
www.senate.gov and send your Congressperson a quick e-mail with the words: LET'S GET IT DONE! I urge you to support Healthcare Reform.
What happens when you send those e-mails? Well, each e-mail counts as 100 voices of constituents. If your Congress person is flood with e-mails urging them to pass a certain bill, they will not jeopardize their office by going against the majority of constituents! They WANT YOUR votes and they also know they are acting in the best interest of their district.
No Congressperson wants to stick their neck out for a lone voice....Let's Get It Done!
Plus, it's feels good knowing you are a part of history! Smile.
