I thought that I would share with you a few tips that were suggested in O Magazine to help you get more focused.
1) Wake up with a plan. Are you a snoozer? If so, intead of hitting that snooze button when your alarm goes off, jump us, get in the shower and think about yesterday's accomplishments (I replaced news headlines with accomplishment's because we are supposed to be watching what we listen to during these 21 days). This will help you jump start your brain for the day.
2) Brush your teeth with your other hand. This helps stimulate your brain. If nothing else, it will be a fun challenge.
3) When you learn something new (someone's name, a new concept, where you parked, directions, etc), say it out loud. You will have a greater chance of remembering it. This is really good if you often misplace your keys, say it out loud when you place them down; it will help you remember where you left them.
4) Chew gum. Chewing gum improves your concentration and memory.
5) Stand on the balls of your feet. It makes you feel more grounded and less tense. Are you nervous when presenting to a group? This is a great technique to help calm those butterflies. It works at home when you're on the phone too. Get out of your chair and stand on the balls of your feet. Oh, and don't forget to smile, they can sense that even over the phone.
6) Stop and take ten minutes to daydream. If you have something that you just can't seem to solve, stop and daydream for 10 minutes. It helps clear your head, puts you in a creative and positive mode and allows you to think more clearly.
